FEMA accepting applications to pay funeral expenses for COVID dead

(Washington, DC) — FEMA is assisting with funeral expenses for those who die from coronavirus.
Starting today, FEMA is taking applications for a program offering as much as $9,000 to cover funeral costs for each victim.

FEMA Administrator Bob Fenton said the agency is affirming its commitment to help with funeral and burial expenses “many families did not anticipate.”
More than a half million Americans have died from COVID and related illnesses since the pandemic began.
