The FBI in Miami has added $10,000 to the reward being offered for information leading to the arrest of the person who shot and killed 16 month old Kaleb Watson in a West Palm Beach alleyway earlier this month.
“Nothing justifies the killing of an innocent 16 month old boy,” said Raul Perdomo, acting Assistant Special Agent in Charge, FBI Miami. “Someone saw or heard something. Perhaps they witnessed the shooting or learned information about it later. Either way, we need that person to step forward, if not for their community, then for this innocent child.”
West Palm Beach police say Kaleb was sitting in the backseat of his aunt’s car with his mother and father at around 6 p.m. on April 7th in an alley near Fourth Street and Douglass Avenue.
A gunman then approached the car and opened fire, grazing the boy’s mother and striking Kaleb.
Both were taken to an area hospital for treatment, however, the child did not survive.
“The people that are responsible know exactly what happened, and the people that witnessed this incident knows what happened,” West Palm Beach Police Chief Frank Adderley said a news conference Wednesday. “We’re asking for them to come forward.”
Anyone with information is urged to call the West Palm Beach Police Department at 561-822-1900 or Crime Stoppers of Palm Beach County at 1-800-458-TIPS.
