Fatal wrong-way crash causes I-95 northbound to shut down in Lake Worth Beach

(LAKE WORTH BEACH, FL) – A major multi-car accident has closed all northbound lanes of I-95 in Lake Worth Beach early Friday morning.

The fatal crash happened around 4:30 a.m. just after Lantana Road.

All northbound lanes are currently closed for about two miles between 6th Avenue South and Lantana Road. Drivers are forced to exit Lantana Road, and then get back on I-95 at 6th Avenue South.

One man is dead and another is in critical condition after the wrong-way crash along I-95 in Palm Beach County.

It happened around 4 a.m. in Lake Worth near the Lantana Road exit.
According to FHP, a 26-year-old man was driving in the wrong direction.

Investigators say he was driving a white Toyota Carolla headed Southbound on the Northbound lane of I-95 between Lantana Road and Sixth Avenue when he collided with a Chevy Silverado coming the opposite way.

The 26-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

Drivers should expect delays and proceed with caution.
