DELAWARE— A former aide of ex-New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has died after he was reportedly forced out of a Lyft on a highway and was struck by a car.
The incident occurred in Dewey Beach at 1:45 a.m.
Investigators say 43-year-old Sid Wolf and five friends were traveling to a residence in Bethany Beach when the group got into a disagreement with the Lyft driver.
The driver then stopped the vehicle in the middle of the highway and demanded that the group exit the vehicle.
As the group was getting out, a 27-year-old man in a 2016 Toyota Corolla saw the Lyft stopped in the middle of the road and attempted to change lanes to avoid hitting it.
The driver then struck Wolf who exited the Lyft from the right side of the vehicle and was “standing in the roadway.”
Wolf was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Lyft driver was said to have fled from the scene and has not yet been identified.
All other passengers were said to have been uninjured.
Wolf leaves behind a wife and two children.
