Estranged wife and one other arrested for murder of missing Broward man

TAMARAC, FL– The Broward County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that two people have been arrested for the murder of a missing 28-year-old man. 

Gianni Coto was reported missing on January 25th after he went to visit his ex-wife’s home in Tamarac but failed to come home. 

After five days of searching, authorities found his body buried off State Road 60 in Indian River County. 

 Officials learned during their investigation that during the visit with his ex-wife, 31-year-old Trinity Bownes, and at some point, she and Coto got into an argument.

Coto was reportedly stabbed at the home and then buried in another location. 

Authorities arrested 29-year-old Brandon Jenkins of Clarksville, Tennesse Friday and Bownes turned herself into authorities in San Joaquin County, California the following day.

Officials did not reveal the nature of Jenkins’s involvement in Coto’s murder, but they did report that both Bownes and Jenkins are facing first-degree murder and tampering with evidence charges.
