Police arrested a man on suspicious of driving under the influence after he backed into a patrol car in Port St. Lucie.
The incident happened Saturday night on SW Port St. Lucie Boulevard.
An officer on patrol noticed the suspect’s car outside a day care center.
As the officer made a U-turn to go back and investigate the situation, the suspect drove away.
Police stopped the driver for failing to stay in their lane of traffic and for not having a license plate on the car.
After the car stopped. police said the driver put the car in reverse until he hit the patrol car.
Police said the suspect, 37-year-old Marius Lockhart, admitted to drinking three beers and two shots.
Police found two empty bottles of vodka in his car.
No one was hurt.
