Dr. Anthony Fauci has tested positive for the coronavirus.
The report was made public on Wednesday through a statement from the National Institutes of Health.
According to the report, the 81-year-old who is fully vaccinated and has received two booster shots, tested positive through the rapid antigen test and is experiencing mild- symptoms.
It has also been reported that Fauci, has not recently been in close contact with President Joe Biden or other senior government officials.
Fauci says he is following public health guidelines and his doctor’s advice to social distance.
He will return to work once he tests negative.
