(NEW YORK) — At least 30 people were dead after a mass shooting at a child-care center in northeast Thailand, local police said.
The suspect also died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said in a statement.
Police say the gunman was an ex-police officer who had recently lost his job. Authorities say after the mass shooting, the gunman went home, killed his wife and child and then himself.
A dozen or more people were injured, in addition to the 34 who were killed.
