At a South Florida school on Friday Gov. Ron DeSantis signed the “Individual Freedom” bill into law, which will bans Critical Race Theory (CRT) from public school classrooms.
“We’re here today because we believe in education, not indoctrination,” DeSantis said at the signing ceremony at Mater Academy Charter Middle/High School in Hialeah Gardens.

The bill bans teachers from providing lessons that teach American society is inherently and systemically racist and that members of one race are ‘morally superior’ to others based on their skin color.
“We are not going to use your tax dollars to teach our kids to hate this country or to hate each other,” DeSantis said.
The law also extends to workplaces and bans employers from using CRT in employee training material.
DeSantis also signed into law the bill that strips Disney of the autonomous region where its Florida parks reside known as the Reedy Creek Improvement District.
The move was in response to the California company’s opposition to the Parents Rights and Education bill which critics have called the ‘Don’t Say Gay Bill.’
Reedy Creek now stands to be dissolved on June 1, 2023 at which point the parks will fall under the purview of Orange and Osceola Counties.
