Authorities in Tennessee are now investigating after a deputy was found dead inside of a burning home.

The incident was reported Sunday evening in Robertson County.

Police say they became concerned about the 22-year-old deputy identified as Savanna Puckett after she failed to show up for her shift at 5 p.m.

Another deputy went to her home to check up on her and found her home on fire.

When fire crews got to the scene, they entered the home and found the deputy had been fatally shot.

While investigators reported that they are still investigating the incident, one person has since been taken into custody  in connection with her death after a 14-hour standoff.

The Tennessee Bureau Investigation identified the suspect as 27-year-old James Conn. He is facing both murder and arson charges. He is being held without bond.

A witness told reporters that Conn was found hiding in the attic of the home he lived in with his mother.
