Things got “squirrelly” for some Louisiana deputies during a traffic stop.

The department said the feral pet squirrel “pounced on” the deputies as they conducted a vehicle search.

The squirrel was safely returned to its cage and both the animal and deputy were unharmed.

The squirrel can be seen climbing on the sheriff’s deputy who is dancing around in video posted by the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Thank God he didn’t shoot it.
