DELRAY BEACH, FL– Authorities in Delray have released an artist rendering of a victim whose body was found in three suitcases floating in the Intracoastal Waterway last week.
Investigators have yet to identify the victim and are hoping these new details will help someone recognize her.
“It’s important for the public to know that these reconstructed images are not an exact likeness of the victim or her clothing and are simply the interpretation of the artist,” Delray Beach police Sgt. Casey Kelly said.
The female victim was discovered near the 1000 block of Palm Trail in Delray Beach on Friday.
Officials say they received a 911 call about suspicious items floating in the water.
When authorities arrived, they found one purple suitcase with human remains inside. A short time after discovering the first suitcase, two more suitcases with human remains were located nearby at Southeast Seventh Avenue and Casuarina Road.
Authorities say all the remains belong to the same victim.
The victim is described as a white or Hispanic woman who is 5-foot-4 and appears to be between the ages of 35-55. She was wearing a floral top made by a Brazilian company called Betzabe.
Officials are asking those who live in the area to review their surveillance cameras along the Intracoastal Waterway from July 17-20.
“If you saw something or have any information about this case, please contact us,” Kelly said. “No bit of information is too small.”
If you believe you have any information about this case you are asked to contact Detective Mike Liberta at 561-243-7874.
