This past Memorial Day weekend, a Palm Beach County gym once again honored a hero Navy SEAL who was killed in action while serving in Afghanistan, WPTV reports.
CrossFit Delray Beach will be hosting their annual “Murph Challenge,” named after the hero Navy SEAL L.T. Michael Murphy.
Murphy earned the Medal of Honor and was a recipient of the Purple Heart, facing extreme combat conditions while on tour in northeastern Afghanistan.
The “Murph Challenge” is a grueling exercise and involves:
- 1-mile run
- 100 pullups
- 200 pushups
- 300 squats
- 1-mile run
The participants will also be wearing a 20-pound vest to simulate the standard armor that service members wear while in the field.
