PORT ST. LUCIE- A food delivery driver was shot in front of a home near SW Ewing Avenue and SW Addie Street late Wednesday night.

Police responded to reports of gunshots in the area at around 11:00 PM and found the 43 year old victim inside a car parked on the road.

Officers performed CPR until fire-rescue units arrived, however the victim was later pronounced dead at an area hospital.

Two houses were also struck by gunfire, however no one inside was injured.

Port St. Lucie police Sgt. John Dellacroce told our partners at WPTV the shooting does not appear to be connected to the victim’s job as a delivery driver.

The name of the victim has not been released.
