Dayonte Resiles found guilty during retrial

A jury has found Dayonte Resiles guilty of first degree murder during his retrial.

The decision came down around 10:00 a.m. on Friday.

Resiles was being tried for the 2014 murder of a 59-year-old identified as Jill Su inside of her Davie home.

Authorities say Resiles was attempting to burglarize the home but once he got inside, he noticed Su was inside.

Su’s son Justin Su, returned home to find his mother stabbed to death inside of a bathtub with her hands and ankles bound.

Resiles’ initial trial in December ended in a mistrial.

Now that he has been found guilty, he could now face the death penalty.
