PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL — The daughter of Gary Levin, the missing Lyft driver from Palm Beach County, is reporting that her father has died.
Levin’s daughter Lindsay DiBetta, shared a post on Facebook Tuesday announcing her father’s death and preparations for a funeral service.
74-year-old Levin was reported missing on Jan. 30 after he went to pick up a customer around 1:30 p.m., and they lost contact with him.
“We don’t know if he actually picked up the person, or if he picked up a person as it was completed, or what happened,” DiBetta said.
After weeks of searching a Florida Department of Law Enforcement investigator, located the badly decomposed body of a man Saturday in a wooded area near State Road 70 and Northeast 40th Avenue.
Authorities say the area was just miles away from where Levin’s phone last pinged.
A suspect, 35-year-old Matthew Flores of North Carolina, was taken into custody in his home state on Feb 2nd after authorities found him driving Levin’s stolen vehicle.
Flores reportedly led authorities on a police chase before finally being taken into custody.
Authorities reported that Flores was already wanted in Hardee County, Florida in connection with the death of a man.
He also reportedly has another open case.
Flores has yet to be charged in Levin’s case.
