A Carnival Cruise ship that left Florida earlier this week, reportedly caught fire while docking at Grand Turk Island.
The fire was reported on Thursday morning.
According to the report, the whitetail funnel seen aboard all Carnival cruise ships is the portion of the ship that caught fire.
Carnival cruises released a response about the incident saying that the fire was put out quickly:
“Carnival Freedom’s emergency response team quickly activated and extinguished a fire inside the ship’s funnel while the ship was in Grand Turk. All guests and crew are safe, and the ship’s guests were cleared by local authorities to go ashore. We continue to assess the situation. Carnival Freedom left Port Canaveral on Monday on a five-day cruise.”
There are no reports of injuries at this time.
The fire is still under investigation.
