FORT PIERCE, FL– The Fort Pierce Police Department is conducting a criminal investigation after a dead body was discovered inside of a vehicle in a Walmart parking lot.
The body was discovered at the location on Okeechobee Road around 6:00 p.m. on Friday, by a shopper who was walking back to their vehicle.
Authorities at the scene say there were several flies next to the vehicle and the area “smell of death.”
Inside of the vehicle authorities identified a 34-year-old man with an air duster in his lap.
After viewing security footage from Walmart and finding other items in the vehicle, the case was turned over to the Criminal Investigations Department.
The identity of the victim has not been released.
