Firefighters from Palm Beach County Fire Rescue are on the scene of a large brush fire that broke out in a wooded area near Donald Ross Road and Ellison Wilson Road in Juno Beach at around 3:00 Tuesday afternoon.

Smoke from the fire was seen billowing into the sky for miles around Palm Beach County.

Westbound traffic from the beach is being diverted but motorists heading east are not affected.

Approximately 8 acres are involved and the fire was brought under control by 6:30 PM. Officials hope to have Donald Ross fully open by Tuesday evening.
