The city of Lake Worth Beach promises its residents in a statement on Facebook that utility services will not cut off during the corornavirus pandemic…after they already were for some customers.
A city commission meeting in Lake Worth on Thursday turned ugly as a commissioner and the mayor butted heads over the city’s handling of the coronavirus outbreak.
During the emergency meeting, Lake Worth Beach city officials discussed a local utility company’s role during the coronavirus pandemic and the issue of residents losing power for failure to pay utility bills.
Commissioner Omari Hardy requested the emergency meeting and he became upset when another commissioner “calls the question” over the utility company.
Then the conversation gets heated and the two city officials start arguing until the mayor, Pam Triolo calls for a recess to the meeting.
