Convicted felon shot dead during confrontation with West Palm Beach police

According to West Palm Beach police, the suspect lunged at officers with the knife while they tried to communicate with him.

The shooting happened along the 800 bock of Sunset Road in West Palm Beach around 2:10 a.m. on Sunday.

Officers responded to a 911 call of a suspicious man armed with a knife who was attempting to break into a residence.

One officer shot Robb, who died at the scene of his injuries.

Police say the suspect died on the scene.

No officers or other civilians on scene were injured.

The investigation has been turned over to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

Sunday afternoon, the police department identified the man as Allan Lorenzo Robb who they say was released from prison on September 17.

Lorenzo Robb’s criminal history includes 13 felony charges with one felony conviction and 14 misdemeanor charges with five convictions.

According to West Palm Beach police, all three officers are currently on administrative leave in accordance to standard department protocol and will be named at a later time.
