The head of left-leaning cable channel CNN is resigning from the network effective Wednesday. Jeff Zucker, who has served as president of CNN Worldwide since 2013, admitted to carrying on a ‘consensual relationship’ with a longtime colleague which he failed to disclose to other staffers. CNN’s Brian Stelter shared the memo from the embattled leader of the ratings challenged network on Twitter:

The disclosure came during the investigation into the actions of disgraced former anchor Chris Cuomo who was terminated from the network last year amid charges of sexual misconduct. It has not been announced who will take over the channel which regularly trails Fox News and MSNBC in the ratings.
