An employee off the Monroe County Detention Center has been arrested on battery charges according to reports.

27-year-old Alexsa Lashae Rahming was taken into custody after she allegedly pushed another woman down a flight of stairs in the area of Angela Street.

The woman was said to have suffered cuts during the fall but is expected to be ok.

Rahming has been charged with simple battery.

The Key West Police Department announced that in addition to a criminal investigation, there will also be an internal affairs investigation.

Rahming is currently on unpaid leave pending the outcome of both investigations.
