A 7-year-old girl is recovering after she reportedly fell between 35 and 40 feet off of a gondola ride at the Florida State Fair.

The incident occurred on Saturday around 8:40 p.m. in Hillsborough County.

Investigators are reporting that the girl, who was riding with three family members under the age of 10, somehow slipped under the safety bar while riding across the fairgrounds.

Authorities say the child thankfully fell into a grassy area.

She was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, including a possible broken wrist.

Investigators are reporting that the incident was an accident.
