Vice President Kamala Harris said it herself, the Delta variant of the coronavirus is no joke.
Health officials warn that even vaccinated people can get infected with the Delta variant, but symptoms will be mild.
Some people may have to go to the hospital to get oxygen but they will not end up in the ICU if they are vaccinated.
Those Americans who are not vaccinated are ending up getting very sick and dying.

Slightly less than 50% of Americans are fully vaccinated, whereas in England the percentage is much higher 87% and officials say that’s why so many vaccinated people are contracting the Delta variant.

The White House says a fully vaccinated staffer has tested positive for COVID-19 and has symptoms after meeting with Texas Democrats last week.
A White House official emphasized that breakthrough infections are to be expected and the fact the person is having mild symptoms is an indication the vaccines are working.
A congressional aide in House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office has also tested positive. A spokesperson said that individual has had no contact with the California Democrat since exposure.

Meanwhile, the CDC says vaccinated teachers and students do not need to wear masks, but the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends all children over the age of two wear masks regardless of vaccination status.

So far local school districts are maintaining masks as an option when school starts next month.
