Cat 3 Hurricane Fiona dumps two feet of water on Puerto Rico

(MIAMI, FLA) — While Cat 3 Hurricane Fiona is not a threat to Florida, the major storm has killed three people and dropped two feet of rain on Puerto Rico.

Fiona is now bearing down on the Turks and Caicos Islands with 115 mile per hour winds, according to the National Hurricane Center in Miami.

This, after the system left behind catastrophic flooding and widespread power outages in Puerto Rico.

The Biden administration is promising to help as more than 300 FEMA workers are helping to restore power and fix damage on the island.

Fiona also made landfall in the Dominican Republic on Monday.

While Fiona is not expected to hit the US mainland, you can expect high surf and dangerous rip currents at our beaches. Oddly, Fiona may hit Canada eventually.
