(COCONUT CREEK, Florida)– A car crash in Coconut Creek has left one woman dead and a police officer injured early Sunday morning.

The incident happened just before 4 a.m. by the intersection of West Sample Road and Lyons Road in Coconut Creek.

After the crash, the woman, who was driving a white sedan, was taken to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead.

EMTs also rushed the police officer to the hospital, suffering from minor injuries.

The Broward County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating the scene.
