Just four days after Father’s Day, the daughter of a Michigan politician running for a state representative seat is urging residents to not vote for her dad.
In a tweet posted by Stephanie Regan, daughter of Republican Robert Regan, she writes, “If you’re in Michigan and 18-plus, please for the love of God do not vote for my dad for state rep. Tell everyone.”
She goes on to urge voters to perform a Google search to “find info about his campaign,” noting she doesn’t “feel safe sharing further information regarding his beliefs.”
The message has received 170,000 likes and has been retweeted 34,200 times.
Robert Regan, who describes himself as a “Bible-believing Christian,” has not yet responded to his daughter’s tweet.
Will his daughter’s non-endorsement hurt Regan’s chances of being elected? What’s the most outrageous family feud to have gone public?
