ETOBICOKE, Canada — A Canadian couple is reporting that they came home from a business trip to find that someone impersonated them and sold their home without them knowing.
According to the report, at some point after the couple left town in Jan. 2022, two unknown people took on their identities.
The duo reportedly hired a real estate agent and listed the property for sale.
The home was sold to another party, who took possession of the property.
Several months after the sale, the real property owners returned to discover what happened.
Investigators said the man and woman provided the agent with fake identification to impersonate the real homeowners.
They are both wanted for mortgage fraud.
No other details have been released.
