(SAN CARLOS, CA) – A man was arrested for allegedly beheading a woman with a sword in San Carlos Thursday, according to reports.
Deputies were notified of an ongoing assault late Thursday morning, and when police arrived to the scene, an adult female was discovered deceased, the San Mateo County Sheriff’s office briefed in an incident update.

The man was arrested and taken into custody after returning to the scene.
According to the report, the victim and suspect knew each-other, but a direct connection with their relationship has not been released.
“Anytime someone loses their life, it’s certainly a tragedy,” San Mateo County S.O Lt. Eamonn Allen said, according to NBC Bay Area’s Investigative Unit. “As far as the shocking nature of it, I do know that the deputies that first arrived on scene were a little beset by the scene. We are providing them peer support. We are also providing support for the witnesses that were on scene as well because there were several civilian witnesses.”
Lt. Allen stated the suspect used a “stabbing instrument”, but did not reveal additional features of the weapon.
