Caitlyn Jenner announces gubernatorial run in California

With a surprise announcement today, Caitlyn Jenner becomes the first transgender Republican to run for governor of California.

The conservative, formerly known as Bruce Jenner, made it official today by filing paperwork as Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom faces a potential recall election.
Jenner went after Democrats for the way they’ve governed the state. She described Newsom’s time in charge as “disastrous” and criticized him for coronavirus-related lockdowns.
Jenner, who used to be married to Kris Kardashian, noted she has called California home for almost 50 years.
Jenner also promised to take a statewide tour to visit with Californians in the near future. Jenner won an Olympic gold medal as Bruce Jenner in the decathlon in the 1976 Olympics in Montreal…making her “a proven winner.”
