Birmingham, AL –The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation after a woman’s body was found burning in a residential area.
The body of 31-year-old Jermiera Fowler of Birmingham, Alabama, was located on June 1st near the 200 Block of Sellers Road.
Police say they received a call about 9:00 p.m. from a resident who noticed the fire and went to see what was burning.
According to the report, the resident told police that he first thought someone was burning trash but then he saw the body.
Officials say Fowler was reported missing on Thursday after she went to meet up with someone she met through Facebook Marketplace the day before but had not been heard from.
No arrests have been made at this time.
