(TAMPA, FL)– NFL star and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady has agreed to a divorce from his wife Gisele Bündchen, he announced on Friday.
The QB made the announcement in a now-deleted Instagram post.
“We arrived at this decision to end our marriage after much consideration,” Brady said. Doing so, is, of course painful and difficult, like it is for so many people who go through the same thing everyday around the world. However, we wish only the best for each other as we pursue whatever new chapters in our lives that are yet to be written.”
The divorce was filed in a Florida court but the terms of the settlement are being kept confidential.
According to gossip site TMZ the terms were reached amicably and the couple will continue to share custody of their two children, Benjamin and Vivian.
Brady and Bündchen dated for 3 years before marrying in 2009.
Brady, 45, has been playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers since 2020 after 19 seasons with the New England Patriots.
He won his 7th Super Bowl with the team in 2021.
