PALM CITY, Fla. —
The turnpike in Martin County has reopened after a 40-acre bush fire caused authorities to shut down all lanes between mile markers 133 and 138 on Friday.
At 5:30 p.m. authorities reported that the fire was 100% contained.
The fire began early Friday near Citrus Boulevard and Boat Ramp Road, just west of the turnpike.
Officials say they were forced to briefly close the roadway due to poor visibility.
