
DELRAY BEACH, FL–
A Broward County woman has died after her vehicle ran out of gas while she was driving on I-95.
The incident occurred just after 6:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes near Atlantic Avenue.
Florida Highway Patrol reported that the 54-year-old victim ran out of gas and stopped her vehicle near the entrance ramp with the hazard lights on.
The woman then got out of her car and began walking towards the back of the vehicle.
At that moment, a 21-year-old driving a Nissan sedan struck the woman and her vehicle.
Authorities say the driver could not stop his vehicle in time.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 21-year-old was taken to Delray Medical Center with minor injuries.
