Sheriff: Broward School Campus Monitor Accused of Soliciting Minors

A Broward County Public Schools campus monitor finds himself behind bars for allegedly soliciting minors, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

Alton Johnson, of Lauderhill, faces criminal charges including soliciting minors and transmitting harmful material to minors.

Detectives are concerned that there may be more victims in the community.

Last February, detectives began a joint investigation with the Broward County Public Schools Special Investigative Unit into Johnson.

The probe revealed that Johnson, who worked at Blanche Ely High School at the time, solicited two minors to send him sexually explicit videos.

In one of those cases, Johnson offered money in exchange for the video.

The Sheriff’s Office says Johnson is also accused of sending photos of porn to one of the minors.

He is also being charged with being an authority figure engaged in lewd conduct with a student.

Johnson was booked into the Broward County Jail on Tuesday.

Anyone with information that could assist investigators is asked to contact Special Victims Unit Detective Robert Rausch at (954) 321-4234.
