BREVARD COUNTY, FL — A Brevard County schools custodian is in police custody after he reportedly threatened a student with a razor blade.
The incident occurred at Space Coast Jr./Sr. High School Thursday afternoon.
Students told authorities that their school’s custodian, 26-year-old James Baillargeon, told a student that he was “from the hood” and that he would “cut him into pieces,” while holding a razor blade in his hand.
When authorities spoke to Baillargeon about the incident, he told them that he was in the process of plunging a toilet when a student walked into the bathroom and yelled that he looked like he was masturbating.
The student then repeated the claim several times and that’s when Baillargeon pulled a razer blade scraper out of his pocket, exposed the blade, and followed the student out of the restroom and into the hallway.
Baillargeon reported that he was “frustrated and has trouble with the students not respecting him.”
He is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, child abuse without great bodily harm, and improper exhibition of a weapon on school grounds.
