UPDATED: Glades Central HS Lockdown Lifted, Parking Lot Shooting Not Student-Related

WEDNESDAY 6:15 P.M. UPDATE:

Officials have lifted the lockdown at Glades Central High School, after a shooting allegedly took place Wednesday afternoon in the school’s parking lot.

An unidentified person reportedly drove onto the campus and accidentally shot themselves in the car. The individual has non-life-threatening injuries.

As expected, students were dismissed at their regular time of 2:50 p.m.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Police say Glades Central Community High School in Belle Glade is on a code red lockdown Wednesday afternoon after one person was shot near the parking lot of the school.

The shooting was reported shortly after 1 p.m.

Palm Beach County School District authorities said the shooting did not involve a student and that students were safe.

In the statement officials said parents are not to worry and that school expects to have a normal dismissal.
