BOYNTON BEACH- When a woman suffered a medical episode at the intersection of Woolbright Road and Congress Ave. last week a group of motorists sprang into action when her car began rolling into oncoming traffic.
The woman’s friend, who was following her, saw the vehicle begin moving with the driver motionless at the wheel then got out of her car and ran into the intersection to stop traffic.
As the car approached oncoming traffic other drivers rushed in to help, first working together to stop the vehicle from rolling, then using a dumbbell provided by another driver to break a window and get into the car.
The group then pushed the car into a 7-Eleven parking lot where a nurse happened to be present, who then called 911 and administered aid until paramedics arrived.
Boynton Beach police hope the people who came to the driver’s rescue can be identified so they can be thanked by the department for their good deed.
