West Palm Beach police have arrested the 18 year old boyfriend of Delores Felipe, 19, who was shot and killed in the Northwood neighborhood on Sunday night.

Alex Castanon has been charged with second degree murder.

When police responded to the 600 block of 34th street just before 10:00 PM on Sunday, they found Felipe’s body on the front lawn of the house.

Castanon maintained they were the victims of a home invasion and Felipe was shot inside the home by an unknown assailant.

Video evidence from a camera across the street from the home disputed that and police took him into custody.

He later told detectives that Delores had become upset when she found one of his guns in the home and it went off accidently when a struggle over the weapon ensued.

The video evidence showed where Castanon carried her body outside and placed it on the lawn.

Castanon is currently being held without bond at the Palm Beach County Jail.
