Body washes up on Jupiter beach

Local and federal authorities investigating scene near Jupiter Reef Club.

According to the Palm Beach County Sherriff’s Office, the body washed up not far from the Jupiter Reef Club, located at 1600 South A1A.

The sheriff’s office said an unknown number of Hattians migrants were spotted in a boat about 40 yards offshore during the early morning hours Wednesday.

As the immigrants attempted to flee from U.S. Customs and Border Protection official’s, three Haitian men jumped overboard. Two were taken into custody, and a third was found deceased and floating nearby.

PBSO, Jupiter Police, U.S. Customs and Border Protection are all involved in the investigation.
