POMPANO BEACH, Fla. — A body was found in a car that was stolen during a carjacking early Friday in Boca Raton, according to WPTV Channel 5.
The carjacking was reported shortly before 1 a.m. Friday, Broward Sheriff’s Office spokesman Carey Codd said.
Deputies tracked the car to the 1100 block of Northwest 18th Drive in Pompano Beach, where one person fled and was later detained in a nearby apartment complex, Codd said.
Another person was found dead in the car.
Boca Raton police said the person found dead was not the victim of the carjacking.
The identity of the body has not been released.
BSO homicide detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
