ST. PETERSBURG, FL– The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office has released new bodycam video showing the moment one of their deputies walked into an ambush situation while responding to a burglary.
The incident occurred on March 12 in St. Petersburg.

They then started chasing the suspect through a yard while yelling commands.
The suspect continued to run and at one point disappeared from view.
Cp. Aitken continued to pursue the suspect and as he rounded the corner of the home, was shot by the suspect.
As the deputy fell to the ground, K-9 Taco continued to pursue the suspect and bit him in the hip.
A second deputy then shot and killed the suspect.
The suspect has been identified as Zion Bostick.
Authorities say Bostick served two stints in state prison and was released a year ago.
According to the Sheriff’s Department, Bostick told his mother that he was not going back to jail.
