
In response to continued aggression in Ukraine, President Joe Biden imposed a ban on oil imported from Russia on Tuesday.
“Defending freedom is going to cost,” Biden said during remarks at the White House, referring to an expected rise in the cost of gasoline and other petroleum based fuels.
Britain also announced a similar ban on Tuesday, other European nations intend to cut back on Russian fuel by 2/3, and Shell Oil has also pledged to stop buying Russian oil and natural gas.
The move comes as the price of gasoline surges across Palm Beach County with some stations already topping $4 per gallon according to gasbuddy.com
Across Florida, the price of regular gasoline increased .44 per gallon in just the past week and sits just slightly below the national average at $4.15 per gallon.
