Patrick Mahomes got the ball first in overtime for the second week in a row to begin overtime but threw a costly interception which led to an Evan McPherson game winning 31-yard field goal as the Bengals took down the Chiefs 27-24 to advance to Super Bowl LVI.

Cincinati scored 18 unanswered points to tie the game at 21 at the end of the third quarter. They’d eventually take the lead on a McPherson 52-yard field goal with just over six minutes left to play in regulation.

Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker nailed a 44-yard field goal at the end of regulation to send the game into OT.

The Bengals will face the winner of the Rams vs 49ers in Los Angeles in two weeks.

The last time Cincinatti made the Super Bowl was in 1989 when they lost to the 49ers 20-16.
