A bank robber is now in custody after targeting a bank in Delray and leading police an a multi-county police chase.

Authorities say the suspect walked into the TD Bank located on 969 Southeast Fifth Avenue around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday and demanded money from the employees.

Delray Beach police officers were able to locate the suspect and followed him onto the I-95 northbound ramp. They, however, lost sight of the suspect around the Boynton Beach area.

The suspect was then located again, traveling south through Broward County towards the Miami-Dade area.

Both the Broward Sheriff’s Office and Miami-Dade police became involved in a high speed chase with the suspect.

The suspect then pulled into a church parking lot in the 3400 block of Northwest 191st Street in Miami Gardens where he became trapped by two unmarked police cars.

That’s when the suspect began throwing the money from the window of his car.

The suspect then eventually, opened the door of the vehicle and surrendered to police.
