(NEW YORK CITY) – A baby’s leg was reportedly found in the New York City sewage system Wednesday morning, police sources told The Post.

An employee of the Department of Environmental Protection found the “possible human remains” within a conveyer belt at a Bronx sewage facility.

The “human remains” consisted of a leg stemmed towards the knee and allegedly belonged to an infant, another inside source told The Post.

A medical examination is currently underway to determine if the recovered remains were human.

This investigation is taking place ‘by the 41st Precinct in the Bronx’, and NYPD is standing by for confirmation from the examination, according to The Post.
