Authorities in Port St. Lucie are currently working to identify human remains that were located on Thursday.

The remains were found in a vacant lot on SW Calmar Avenue near SW Daemon Street around 3:45pm.

While officials have yet to identify the remains, they did report that they believe the remains could be connected to a 2016 missing person’s case.

Officials also reported that foul play is not expected at this time.
