Authorities in Volusia County are warning residents about a new TikTok challenge where participators shoot gel beads from toy blaster guns at unsuspecting people.

The challenge called the ‘Orbeez Challenge’ became popular over spring break according to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Department.

Officials say since the trend began, they have made several arrest but are still getting reports of people being targeted.

Deputies recently arrested a 19-year-old man who shot an Amazon delivery driver in Deltona, Florida and another adult and a 10-year-old child.

According to the report, the Amazon driver was shot in both the neck and in the face, while the child and adult were shot in face and chest.

Authorities were able to identify the suspect and have since charged him with shooting into an occupied vehicle, child abuse, and 2 counts of battery.

An 18-year-old and two 17-year-olds were also charged with battery after they shot a man trimming trees outside a Deltona home. The victim was said to have been shot in the back and left with broken skin and welts.

Authorities warn that those who are choosing to participate in the trend are committing a crime and will be processed:

“Just be aware that these shootings are crimes, and when you’re identified you may face criminal charges for your part in the challenge,” says the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office on their Facebook page.
