Attorney General Merrick Garland holds press conference on Trump raid

(WASHINGTON, DC)- U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland held a press conference on Thursday to address the raid on former President Donald Trump’s Palm Beach residence earlier this week.

Garland confirmed that he approved the decision to seek the search warrant on Mar-a-Lago and requested the court unseal the warrant that was served so that the American people can better understand the situation.

Republicans have been critical of both the DOJ and the FBI for pursuing the raid and have been demanding answers.

While the AG  said he could not speak about ongoing investigations,  unsealing the documents will allow the public to see just what the FBI was looking for when they raided Mar-a-Lago.

He went on to condemn an attack that took place earlier today where an armed person attempted to breach the FBI field office in Cincinnati, Ohio before being stopped by local authorities.

Garland also praised Department of Justice employees, including the FBI, as “dedicated, patriotic public servants.”
